Friday, August 7, 2009, 11:48 PM Students showing their Patriotism?? National Day is coming soon. And today. My eyes were filled with red colours today. Everywhere I turn to be it kindergarten kids,primary school kids, secondary school kids(I don't know whether JC's do it too...). All of them are donning on their red shirts to show their patriotism towards Singapore. I wonder.. Whether they don their red shirts just because they are told to do so? Or simply just for the sake of wearing something different other than their school uniform. Why am I saying so?? Okay. How about this. We put the kindergarten kids aside. Maybe they don't know yet about this. How about those in Primary,Secondary and JC's(if they have) students?? Ya they do look good in red.But, how well do they really know Singapore?? I am not saying that I know Singapore that well. I myself do not know Singapore that well. Don't believe me?? Try talking to any of the students and ask them a few question regarding Singapore. See how well they can answer. Of course, those good in Singapore history can answer well. How about those who are born Singaporeans but do not know a thing about Singapore?? Hmm... My point is. This students nowadays, they don something on just for the fun of it. They never really understand the real meaning behind all this . Example the colour red,white etc etc. Really hope that the students in the future really knows what are the stories behind donning the red shirt, why must be red and white etc etc.... I am not mad or what. I am just saying what is inside my mind that's all.
